Which Box Do I Get?

The "radio shack hack" as we call it is a simple device made from a 
radio shack portable pocket radio. I works on the same premise as a Frank's box
and for all intents and purposes give the researcher the same communication.
I have two Frank's boxes a Joe's box a mini box and ten RS boxes of varying models.
I have the pleasure and distinction of having the newest franks box in the world today.
Like I said the odds of getting a Frank's box are slim and none, that is just the sad fact.
on the bright side, yes Frank's box is unique unto itself and has qualities that are unrivaled by any other box.
But you could actually say the same for all the different models of spirit communication boxes.

The thing I suggest to all people wishing to enter box research is GET A RADIO SHACK BOX!
you will get great live communication immediately, See with any of the other boxes there is an adjustment period for the
new user, I won't go into the theories for that now, their explanation is too long.
Suffice is to say, anyone that is not going to devote all their time solely to box research will need nothing more than the RS box.
That being said, let me explain what the different type of RS boxes are and which one I consider to be the best choice for you.
First, There are three different models of RS box in use by researchers at this time. When the RS hack was first presented the 
First box to be hacked was the radio shack model 12-469 this model at the time could be purchased for 24.99 in an old model 
version that had been discontinued, but was still available in rs stores as surplus stock or the new model 469. Both could be hacked 
for use as a ghost box. The two models have identical features except the new model came in a more modern sleek design.
Also there is one inherent flaw with the new model 469, when used on the AM band (after hacking of course) it make a most 
annoying clicking sound as it sweeps through the stations. This was not a concern with the older model BUT! the older models are scarcer than hens teeth
The new model 469's are the ones with the clicking on AM, there are researchers that swear by the 469 and say the clicking is not a problem. I own the old model
469 so have never had to deal with the clicking, although most of the files I have heard, other than being a bit distracting the clicking does not affect communication.
The 469 is equipped with AM and FM bands, and has no internal speaker. A pair of headphones must be used or an external attachable speaker if you intend to record 
your sessions which I suggest is a priority and should be done no matter what.
Now on to the sister model of the 469, the RS 12-470. This is a staple for all box researchers, I refer to it as my little dynamo. it is the same as the 469 only it has
an internal built in speaker and also comes with Weather and TV bands, which are never utilized for our communication so pretty much irrelevant.
I just wanted to mention the 470 because you will hear quite a few people talk about it and refer to files and post files gathered by the researcher using the 470.
It was almost as readily available as the old model 469 during the first two weeks after the hacks had been introduced. Now you may be able to find one on 
e-bay occasionally or in a remote Radio Shack under a counter or in a back room. But to my knowledge their are no more available anywhere, and unfortunately
the new model 470 can not be hacked.
On to the latest in the line of RS boxes, the RS 20-125 this was discovered to be hackable about a month after the other models. It was actually searched out due to 
necessity and the fact that other models where no longer available. The 125 is a different type of portable radio, it has all the features of the 470 plus 15 short wave bands.
I put a great deal of trust in this model, it is more sturdy and better designed and built than the other two models. It is still reasonably priced and readily available in any RS store.
As a matter of fact I believe it out performs the other two models in most respects and is somewhat quieter noise wise.
If I had to recommend a box that will deliver and is worth every penny, I would have to say the RS 20-125. Please remember this is based on my personal experience which is pretty extensive.
but there are of course other researchers that have different preferences and different methods of doing their research. For instance I will only use the AM band on any box, due to the fact
that I believe the FM band to produce to much clutter signal wise and therefore make it more difficult to discern the live real time answers. The other bands are just the opposite they do not 
produce sufficient diversity of signal for the purpose of spirit voice formation.
 you also can attempt to build a Frank's box but I must tell you that NO ONE to date has successfully been able to build a Frank's box from the plans that are available, but Frank!
so I would go with the RS 20 -125 it packs a punch and in some ways surpasses any of the other boxes in the respect that it has as all the other boxes do it's own qualities and personality,
I'm sure it wont disappoint you. and any of the hacking procedures are very easily done.
